MALLORCA (plus apologies)

Writer's picture: naullsynaullsy

Sorry about the lack of posts 😅 (we forgot...)! Currently, we are in St Vincent and the Grenadines (more specifically: Chatham Bay, Union Island, Grenadines).

Note that Helen, Colette, and I should be seasoned sailors by now, but still we have to double-check everything we do in case we knock a hole in the boat.

So, Mallorca. We were in Mallorca in October so that's 5 months ago ("Good Lord" - Mum). We did a night sail down to Mallorca (I was still recovering from COVID - fun!) from Gousson (picture below), in France. We arrived in Port Andrax the day before Dad's birthday (He got a watermaker for his birthday - very happy with it) and went into the marina.

The day after Ant's birthday, James and Manon arrived. (Uncle James is Mum's brother and Manon is my cousin). They were our 7th guests (in order: Adele, Cassie/Myla, Rhys/Sara, Alan, Gleesons, Vanessa/Romy, James/Manon).

We went to Cala Deià and did a lot of jumping off the boat. We even put the boom out and jumped off (it's very hard to get to the end of the boom when you are wet - be warned, future visitors!).

After that, we went to Sa Colabra. It was super touristy because (drumroll please)... a gorge.

Yup.

We walked a good chunk of it (mostly singing Chiquitita - JAMES'S FAULT! the other bit was just getting mauled by mosquitoes) (pics below).

After that, we went to Port Sóller. Very pretty port. We met a boat called Tingha, people called Helen and Robert. Mum and Dad got on with them like a house on fire. Colette and I didn't really meet them. We did a walk when we were there (no surprise 🙄🙄) - Barranca de Biniaraix (pics below). It took us about 3 1/2 hours, fun.

We played a lot of cards.

The three things we did most were: 1- Swim (naturally), 2- Play Phase 10, and 3- Walk (sadly).

Oh, I forgot to mention that Manon's mums (STOP IT, AUTOCORRECT!!) and sister (Nina) came as day guests. They were staying on land.

Manon, Colette, and I (occasionally Nina) played SUP wrestling which is super fun, but also super painful - the paddleboard gives you a rash every time you climb up (BE WARNED, FUTURE GUESTS!). Basically, tip everyone off and be the last one standing. Award for the SUP wrestling award goes to James: for crawling over the side when to whole thing tipped and managing to stay on top of it. 🎉🎉🍾🎊🎉

We dropped them off in Andrax, the same place we picked them up. We went round to the next bay, Santa Ponsa. We had one night alone (which Mum and Dad filled with hanging with their new BFFs, Tingha!) before more visitors. More family on Mum's side - this time her sister, Kate. Also Uncle Ian, and cousins Emily, and Susie.

We hung around in Santa Ponsa for a bit then pretty much retraced our steps, minus the Port Sóller walk.

Pictures and commentating below!

Me up the mast. Pancakes were being devoured below by Kate, Ian, Emily and Susie. This was on the way to Port Sóller.

Cala Tuent. Everyone playing with the odd sea biscuit thing we found on the crossing from Crete-Sicily.

Tried to feed the fish bread but they were not buying it 🙄

Swimming in Cala Tuent, the James and Manon era

Manon and the slippery boom jumping

Behold my foot (also the boat and the epic Mallorca water)

Nina, Manon, Colette and I participating in SUP wrestling

Mallorcan coast (couldn't tell you where, sorry)

Sa Colabra - the entrance to the gorge

Underage driving 🤫

This wasn't Mallorca, this was on the Spanish coastline (San Pedro, hippie central)

All alone... nobody here beside meeeee... San Pedro (HIPPIE CENTRAL 🍾🍾🎉🎊🔥🔥)

Port Sóller (an unwelcome sight for us kids because it meant a walk)

France -> Mallorca

Phase 10, game 4692 (or something like that) with Sisters Helen, Kate, Emily, Susie, Nat, Colette and Ian. Also Skipper Ant.

Lying in the sun (probably without sunblock on)

"The sisterly bond can never be broken" - Mum

This is normal with Colette.

Posing outside Palma Cathedral (The James and Manon era)

Barranca de Biniaraix

Pretty cool (but a long way to go 😰)

The gorge walk (James is always looking up!)

What type of cheese isn't yours? Nacho cheese! (sorry, bad joke)

Entrance to the gorge (touristy way)

BYE BYE MALLORCA

HELLO MALLORCA!

Sa Colabra

GOUSSON

I think that is all.

Dad is going to do the Almerimar update next, and Colette is currently doing the Barbados update.

Also, I'm going to add that on the 24th of May, we will have our Tu Meke arrival anniversary!

🍾🍾🍾🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🍾🍾🍾

Bye from Nat
